Selling and Getting Paid

Harmony on Tap helps you sell your music, concert tickets, band merchandise and swag, music photographs, and other music related services and products.

Selling products

You can add products to HoT through two methods.

If you take music related photographs and sell them for journalistic purposes or personal use, you can upload and sell photos in bulk. If you sell your band's music or swag, your band's or venue's concert tickets or merchandise, you can add products for sale through their tagged channels.

Selling music photographs

You can sell music photographs that you have license to use or sell for journalistic purposes, licensing to the band or band agencies, or personal use.

In general, this means that the person who purchases your photograph will use it in conjunction with an article or other journalism, is an agent of the artist who will use it for promotional purposes, or is an end-user who will use it for personal use (such as a desktop wallpaper).

Selling music products

You can sell music products such as concert tickets, music (digital downloads or physical albums), swag and merchandise, backstage passes, raffles to win prizes, and more.

Post your products for sale, choose the appropriate product type, and visitors can find and purchase them through a variety of specialty lists and screens that showcase your type of product.

Getting Paid

Harmony on Tap uses a virtual economy called HoT Credits (Harmony on Tap Credits).

When you make sales on the site, complete special offers, and when your referrals perform certain tasks, you receive HoT Credits.

At any time, you can cash these credits out for a PayPal transfer at the rate of 1,000 credits per $1.00. That means each HoTC has the value of 1/10 of a penny; this allows for people to provide "micro incentives" to visitors to reward certain activity (such as rating an album or venue, adding comments, becoming a fan of your Facebook page, etc.)..

When a shopper purchases products or services from Harmony on Tap, your customer can choose to pay with either HoTCs or US$. This allows your shopper to purchase your products without spending any money or entering a credit card.

You receive HoTCs, which essentially act as a bank or "pool" for your pending payout. You can take a payout anytime your balance is over $10.00.

Taking a payout

Before you can take a payout from the site, you must add your PayPal e-mail address to your account.

Go to My Profile > Edit, change your Payment options to Paypal, and enter your Paypal e-mail address. The PayPal e-mail address is the address that you used when you created your PayPal account.

Why use HoT Credits?

The HoT Credit economy allows fans to purchase your music, services, and products without spending their own money or entering payment information, although paying with PayPal or a credit card is always an option for buyers on the site.

Allowing customers to use a free purchase method makes it easier for you sell your products and monetize your activities. Fans may not want to pay for tickets to an opening act, and offering swag "for free" (which then leads the fan through some credit-generating actvities) is a great way to generate more interest for your band.
